You are, however, totally aware of your surrounds and if there was an unusual noise, or someone called out, you would respond and be engaged with your surroundings. You are at all times in total control, there is absolutely no way you would do anything you did not choose to do. This is a perfect way to learn a relaxation technique that you can use in a safe place.
